The intention was to create a masterplan mixed use development connected effortlessly to the new Airport complex also forming part of the design vision. The Mkuze Gateway Project would provide the necessary development infrastructure setting the catalyst for sustainable growth of this amazing place – a Town strategically positioned as the tourist and business link between Mozambique, Swaziland, Durban and Johannesburg. Our design was inspired from the wonderful surroundings and cultural influences – The Mkuze River, the Fish Eagle, Acacia, the Lebombo Mountain Range and the Zulu Culture.
The Overall Masterplan was designed to include various zones namely – Aviation, Cultural, Commercial, industrial, Hospitality and Residential. A New Airport Terminal Building and the ancillary facilities were designed by us Architecturally and Interiors. We also designed the Cultural & Heritage Zone with the interactive Museum, the Open-Air Amphitheatre and Traditional Craft Market; The Retail Centre with Cinemas and Family Entertainment Complex; The 50 key Airport Hotel and Convention Center; as well as the Residential District inclusive of 80 Freehold Cluster Units and Apartments.
